Discover Honolulu Babymoon Edition: Activities and Accommodations

Hi friends! Lets chat Babymoon! Although this post is babymoon focused feel free to share with anyone you know interested in visiting Honolulu!

You may first be wondering, what is a babymoon? No worries, I got you!

People commonly like to vacation to islands during their babymoon but do whatever your heart desires and makes sense for you and your partner! My husband and I decided to go to Honolulu, Hawaii. Honolulu is on Oahu island. There are 7 major islands but only 6 that tourists can explore.

✨Oahu ✨ Maui✨ Big Island ✨ Kauai✨ Molokai✨ Lanai

Then lastly is Niihau but it is not open to the public.

Which island you choose to visit is totally up to you! For us, we tend to like to start at the locations that are more popular for tourists since it was our first visit but in the future we may go explore a different island! We had the most amazing time in Honolulu. Hawaii is a beautiful place with amazing food and wonderful people. Here are a few things we did while there:

Accommodation Details:

‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach | Partial Ocean View Room

The resort is just steps away from Waikiki Beach and includes an incredible 280,000 gallon Oceanarium unique to Honolulu resorts. The destination pool deck had private cabanas, offered a saltwater infinity pool, and a pretty sweet pool bar. I often enjoyed coffee at the small barista stop within the resort and enjoyed the gym as well as the spa within the resort! Booking a prenatal massage is a MUST DO!

Three Must-Do Activities in Honolulu

Dole Plantation: Originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950, Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience” in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions and welcomes more than one million visitors a year.

Dole Plantation provides activities that the whole family can enjoy. Some things to do while visiting:

  • Pineapple Express Train Tour
  • the Plantation Garden Tour
  • Pineapple Garden Maze
  • Plantation country store offering a wide variety of Dole Plantation gifts, local favorites, foods and refreshments including the world-famous Dole Soft Serve!

Star of Honolulu Whale WatchingWhale watching is one of the most popular activities to do when visiting Hawaii! Whale watching with the company we used is hosted on a large vessel with plenty of outdoor space with four walk-around decks and a top observation deck for optimal whale encounters. Tour narration is conducted by experienced captains and knowledgeable naturalists sharing fascinating insights on Humpback whales and Hawaii’s marine wildlife. This was by far the coolest experience, it’s very lowkey and even while pregnant the vessel is so big you can’t really feel any rocking and you don’t travel too far away from the shoreline. It’s also an opportunity to take some amazing photos on the water!

Oahu Circle Island Tour: My absolute favorite activity on this trip of course has to be this island tour. My husband and I sometimes struggle with planning out things to do so what we have found when traveling that sets up really well for the whole trip is to do some sort of full day/ half day tour of wherever we are at. This tour definitely did not disappoint at all. Island and You is a full day circle-island Oahu bus tour, where you see some awesome sites and get to try some amazing Hawaiian food!

In the tour you visit historical sites, eat local favorite foods, learn about the culture of ancient Hawaiians and get to stop at some pretty cool shops where you can buy cool souvenirs. Some of the stops included were:

  • Treasures and You
  • Halona Blowhole Lookout
  • Macadamia Nuts Farm

There are a total of 11 spots on this tour as well. We started the tour bright and early and you will be finished right around dinner time so most of the day but still enough time to get some food or a sweet dessert after!

Exploring Honolulu’s Eateries

Upscale Dinner Experience: 53 By the Sea With amazing views of Waikiki, Diamond expect some great Hawaii regional dishes. 53 By The Sea combines seasonal, locally grown ingredients with seafoods and the fine hand-cut meats.

Quick Lunch On the Go: Marugame Udon Hawaii provides hand crafted udon bowls and tempura. The coolest part is watching your food be prepared right in front of you! Classic Udon is thick chewy noodles paired with a delicate homemade broth. Perfect for a quick lunch as the lines move fast and the meal is light.

Must Have Treat: Leonard’s Bakery! Home of Malasadas and Pao Doce. Malasada is a Portuguese doughnut without a hole. You can have your choice coating and also different options for fillings! Pao Doce is Portuguese sweet bread.

If you plan on visiting Hawaii, let us know where you go! <3

With Love,
